188JILI ID Verification: Why a Casino Asks for Your ID

ID verification exists because Philippine law treats casinos, internet casinos included, as covered persons: they must establish and record your identity from an ID document when you open an account.

ID verification is the step where a casino asks you to prove who you are with a document, and in the Philippines the rule behind it is written down. Republic Act 10927 made casinos, including internet and ship-based casinos, covered persons under the Anti-Money Laundering Act, and the casino rules that followed spell out what must be collected. Use this page next to checking whether an online casino is legit, which covers PAGCOR’s published lists. Here you get the rules, the list of items a casino may ask for, and a short routine for sending documents.

The rules behind ID verification

PAGCOR’s press item on the Casino Implementing Rules and Regulations says they were signed on 25 October 2017 and apply to all casinos, including internet and ship-based casinos, operating within the Philippines’ territorial jurisdiction. PAGCOR’s own Regulatory Order RO-2020-03-001 of 16 March 2020 repeats that scope for its AML and counter-terrorism-financing guidelines. These are the passages that matter to a player.

The ₱5,000,000 figure in RA 10927 is the amount that defines a covered transaction for casinos, a single casino transaction above that sum. It is not the point at which ID is requested, because the casino rules tie identification to opening an account.

What counts as an ID document

PAGCOR’s order defines the term, and the definition is narrower than “any card with your photo”. Check your document against the right-hand column before you photograph it.

CustomerDocuments the order names
Filipino citizenIssued by the Government of the Republic of the Philippines, including its political subdivisions, agencies and instrumentalities
Filipino citizenIssued by a government-owned or controlled corporation
Filipino citizenIssued by a covered person registered with and supervised by the Bangko Sentral, the SEC or the Insurance Commission
Foreign nationalA valid passport or an Alien Certificate of Registration

For foreign nationals the order adds that a casino may consider equivalent documents, or a national identification card from their own government, when the money-laundering risk is low.

What a casino may collect with your ID

The casino rules list the minimum customer information gathered when due diligence is done. The rules add that a missing item is not a violation as long as the customer’s identity is sufficiently known from the rest.

  1. Name of customer.
  2. Date and place of birth.
  3. Present address and permanent address.
  4. Contact number or information, if any.
  5. Nationality.
  6. Proof of identification and the identification number.
  7. Nature of work, name of employer or nature of self-employment or business.
  8. Source of funds.

A request for items 7 and 8 can surprise a player at withdrawal. It is on the list because the rules ask casinos to classify each customer by risk.

What the lobby’s terms say about ID verification

The lobby’s Magrehistro form has no ID field: on 6 October 2026 it asked for a username or a 10-digit mobile number and a password. The lobby’s Tulong Impormasyon help centre then carries the wording that applies later, and it gives no list of accepted documents or processing time.

WhereWhat it saysWhen it applies
Terms, Identity and Account VerificationThe lobby may request identity, payment or other supporting information when necessary for KYC, risk control, fraud prevention or transaction verificationWhen the lobby asks
Terms, same clauseDeposits, withdrawals or other transactions may be temporarily restricted until the required verification is completedUntil you finish the check
FAQs, Account and SecurityWithdrawals may require a fund password, identity verification or other security checksAt the withdrawal request
Terms, Deposits and WithdrawalsBefore a withdrawal request the account must meet the applicable withdrawal, turnover and security-verification requirementsBefore you submit
Terms, account rulesCreating more than one account or giving false information is prohibitedAlways

Give the same name and details you registered with. A mismatch between the document and the account is the quickest way to stall a check.

How to send ID documents with care

Follow this routine each time a lobby asks for a document.

  1. Log in on the address you reached by checking the tab title and the Tagalog lobby, then open the request from inside the account, or from the Customer Service entry in the side menu, which opens a live chat in a new browser tab.
  2. Ask the chat which single document is needed and why, then send that document only.
  3. Send it through the screen or chat that asked. The lobby’s help text tells members to rely only on contact details it gives itself, so ignore a number or handle that reached you through an advert or a message.
  4. Never send a login password, a fund password or an SMS code. The lobby’s FAQs say to keep them confidential.
  5. Screenshot the chat with the date and the agent’s request, and note what you sent.
  6. If the request looks wrong, stop and run a free website checker tool on the address in your browser bar before you send anything.

When a check stops a withdrawal

Problem

Your withdrawal will not go through and the lobby asks you to verify

Fix

Open Customer Service, ask which verification step is outstanding, and finish it with the document the chat names. The lobby’s terms say the restriction lasts until the required verification is completed.

Problem

The check is done, yet the account still behaves as locked

Fix

Read if an account gets suspended for the causes the lobby’s terms point to. If the chat gives no outcome, raising a dispute with the operator shows how to put it in writing and where it goes next.

FAQ

Why does a casino ask for ID after I register?

Republic Act 10927 made casinos, internet casinos included, covered persons under the Anti-Money Laundering Act. The casino rules built on it tell casinos to establish and record each customer's identity from an ID document, and to do face-to-face contact, in person or by technology, before any withdrawal is processed.

Does the 188JILI sign-up form ask for ID?

On 6 October 2026 the Magrehistro form asked only for a mobile number or username and a password. The lobby's terms say it may request identity, payment or other supporting information later, so read the Terms and Conditions in Tulong Impormasyon before you deposit.

Which ID documents does PAGCOR's order name?

For Filipino citizens, documents issued by the government and its agencies, government-owned or controlled corporations, and covered persons supervised by the Bangko Sentral, the SEC or the Insurance Commission. For foreign nationals, a valid passport or an Alien Certificate of Registration.

How long does a casino keep my ID records?

PAGCOR's AML order for casinos says customer due diligence records and transaction records are kept for at least five years. If a case has been filed in court, they are kept beyond that period.

Saan ko ipapadala ang ID ko?

Only through the screen or the Customer Service live chat that asked for it, after you log in. Never send an ID, password, fund password or SMS code to a stranger who messages you first.
