A pending transaction means one side of a transfer is still waiting on the other, and in most cases the wait ends by itself. The Bangko Sentral describes InstaPay as moving funds almost instantaneously, 24/7 all year round, with PHP 50,000 as the maximum per transaction. PESONet is the batch scheme and runs on banking days only.
A pending transaction on a transfer out of GCash
A GCash bank or e-wallet transfer shows pending past the usual time.
Check for an SMS from GCash first, since a delayed transfer’s message states when the money returns or credits. GCash’s flow says money may return to your GCash wallet within 1 to 2 business days and credit to the receiving bank or e-wallet within 3 to 5 business days, weekends and holidays excluded.
No SMS? Open Transactions, select the transfer, tap Get Help and choose I didn’t receive the money. GCash says its team reaches out within 24 to 48 hours.
If a transfer fails, GCash says the full amount plus the PHP 10 InstaPay fee should come back to your wallet.
A pending transaction on a cash-in to your wallet
You sent money from a bank or e-wallet, it shows Failed or Pending, and it is not in your wallet.
Per GCash, a failed or pending status means the cash-in has not reached your wallet. The money is usually returned right away, though your bank or e-wallet may need to confirm first, which can take 2 to 3 banking days. If it is not back after 3 banking days, contact your bank or e-wallet and keep your receipt. GCash asks you to raise any dispute with the issuing bank or e-wallet within 15 days of the transaction.
A limit stopped the money
A large transfer was reversed or never completed even though your balance was enough.
GCash’s flow says large cash-ins may not go through once you reach your daily or monthly wallet and transaction limits. Wait for the limits to refresh, try a smaller amount, or ask the sender to cancel and resend within your limits. Maya lists its own failure causes: an invalid account number, a frozen or blocked account, a dormant account and exceeded inflow limits. Maya users can read their caps on the Maya wallet limit page.
A security check paused the transfer
GCash shows a message about double checking the transaction or being unable to process it.
GCash separates two cases. The message asking to double check means it is checking for a duplicate transfer, so wait 2 minutes and check your Transactions page before you try again. The message that it is unable to process your transaction is a security check, so wait at least 1 hour before trying again.
A casino or gaming deposit is pending
You paid a gaming platform and the cash-in has not appeared.
GCash’s flow says to wait until 24 hours have passed. After that, contact the gaming platform to confirm whether the transaction succeeded; if not, the money may still be with the platform and may be reversed.
GCash adds that, as of 16 August 2025, online gaming platforms cannot be accessed through the GCash app. For 188JILI, read the deposit screen’s own details and use the Customer Service chat in the lobby’s side menu.
